Overview

This tour, which takes approximately three hours, covers the two most emblematic palaces in Seville after the Alcázar. While the Alcázar is the most famous monument for the tourists, they sometimes forget to seek out the charming corners hidden within the high, whitewashed walls of other equally beautiful palaces. The Palace of the Dueñas and the Palace of Pilatos share a common thread: Catalina de Ribera, one of the most important women and one of the most aristocratic families of the 16th century. Catalina de Ribera and her husband not only commissioned the construction of both palaces, but in one of them, they broke all the rules of architectural aesthetics of the time. Two oases of verdant gardens, with beautifully carved walls and exciting stories of legends, an impossible love, wars, pillaging, and survival through the centuries and despite life's adversities.
