Overview

This majestic religious monument, of various architectural styles, is a jewel that will take you through the history, culture and soul of Santander. You’ll be amazed at the greatness of its construction and how it has witnessed key moments in the city’s history. We will meet in the Plaza de la Asunción where we will start our tour visiting the Church of Christ, designed to support the structure of the building. Here we will observe ancient Roman vestiges and the relics of the martyred saints Saint Emeterio and Saint Celedonio, patron saints of the city. In addition, we will admire the bell tower, walk through its historic cloister and tour the main nave of the cathedral, in Gothic style, admiring its artistic details and the interior chapels adorned with altarpieces, which keep centuries of devotion and tradition.
